Tools and Sex Toys for Transmasculine FTM
Who Counts?
We’ve embraced the terms lesbian and woman because they’re categories often made invisible. Female sexuality has historically been demonized, and thus centering women’s bodies and women’s shared pleasure can be empowering.
And yet.
In doing so, it’s important to not further invisibalize the complexities of either. What does it mean to be a woman? What does it mean to be a lesbian woman?
Sex assigned at birth and one’s gender identity are categorically different entities, mixing in a complex tapestry of variations. Some women are cis, trans, intersex, nonbinary. Some women have vaginas; others don’t. Some people who have vaginas aren’t women!
Even without these distinctions, women are by no means a monolithic group. Existing as a woman of color, sex worker, immigrant, and/or religious minority further influences a woman’s experience. Our original mission of pursuing empowered sexuality for culturally-marginalized bodies still applies, but we continue to broaden our understanding of what that means.
Gender Is A Drag
All gender is performative, but that doesn’t make it any less real in our lives. Gender play can be fun and empowering, or it can be overwhelming and anxiety-inducing. One differentiating factor is having access to body-appropriate items that allow for gender affirming expression.
Body modification takes many forms. Those who are transmasculine often opt to chest bind as a means of creating a different silhouette. Binding with the wrong material scan cause health issues, but luckily there are plenty of high-quality options available at an affordable price. We love the binders from New York Toy Collective, offered in either a mid-length or long style, for their breathability and comfort.
Packers are another fun gender affirming tool, with many expertly-designed products available to ensure the perfect fit. The Archeris perhaps the most classic soft silicone packer, featuring realistic detailing along the shaft and testicles as well as a circumcised head.
In contrast, the Pierrefeatures an intact foreskin and is one of the most popular uncircumcised packers currently on the market. Both styles have a natural weight and firm-yet-squishy texture, made from materials that are hypoallergenic and sterilizable. These packers pair nicely with the SpareParts Pete Freestyle harness, which will keep your package snugly in place and is comfortable for everyday wear.
To Pee Or Not To Pee
That should never have to be the question! Sadly, public restrooms have become be a harrowing space of harassment for trans people, making the decision to relieve basic bodily functions a nerve-wracking experience.
STP (stand to pee!) devices are a clever solution offering transmen a subtle way to navigate these scenarios. Many of the most popular options - like Sam the STP- are constructed similar to a soft silicone packer. These are worn via an STP Strap Harnessthat is comfortable, low profile, and machine washable.
Stealth In The Streets, Stiff In The Sheets
Transitioning from day to night doesn’t have to be a nuisance with the introduction of bendable dildos, which allow for flexible pack and play.
The wildly popular Shilo Dildohas a poseable core, allowing it to be repositioned and tucked/untucked as you so desire. And if your girl craves more girth than the Shilo can offer, the comparable Carter Dildoprovides the same features with additional thickness.
Bendable dildos ensure you’re ready to play anytime and anywhere. Be prepared for gender bending adventures both in and out of your bedroom, and remain discreet until the perfect moment for your secret to spring into action. No matter where you take the party in your pants, remember to have fun, play safe, and come often!
